Throughout 2020, the Pensions Dashboards Programme will be progressing the pensions dashboards initiative. A key element of our work is the development of the data standards with which pension providers and schemes will have to comply. The Call for Input is now closed.
To aid the development of the Programme’s work in this area, we published our emerging thinking on Data Scope and Data Definitions in April 2020. The Data Scope Working Paper addresses the breadth of coverage of dashboards and the Data Definitions Working Paper explores the depth of information dashboards should display.
This is a formal Call for Input on our emerging thinking in the areas addressed in the two data Working Papers. It also sets out how we will take account of feedback from stakeholders to produce a first version of the data standards.
Why we are publishing this Call for Input
Under proposed new duties contained in the Pension Schemes Bill, pension providers and schemes will be required to make pensions information available to individuals when they request it via their chosen pensions dashboard.
Evidence from countries that have already launched pensions dashboards shows that it is essential to spend time upfront gathering as much industry input as possible in order to define the data standards for this purpose.
We are seeking input from industry stakeholders and other interested groups on the assumptions set out in the Data Scope and Data Definitions Working Papers to help shape the data standards for initial dashboards.
