The Pensions Dashboards Programme (PDP) is currently in reset, with support from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). The reset began in March with the appointment of a reset board and reset team to help oversee the work.
What is the reset?
In March this year, DWP announced a reset of the programme as part of refreshing our delivery plan for the new connection deadline of 31 October 2026. The process allows the opportunity to review the programme and reset the plan. It also provides the time to ensure required resources are in place to complete the delivery of the technical solution and documentation to support connection.
The reset team and PDP are working closely with the Department for Work and Pensions and the Money and Pensions Service’s senior leadership.
How are we working with others?
PDP is looking to work collaboratively with Government, regulators, and industry.
We are keen to ensure we engage with industry to get this right, and we will seek input on what changes are needed, and any challenges with timelines.
The programme has recently set up working groups with industry focussed on what information we should be providing and to get feedback on how to explain things. This will help to ensure pension providers and schemes have and understand the information they need ahead of connection.
PDP will also continue to attend conferences, speaking engagements and webinars to provide information and answers to your questions.
What is the progress so far?
The reset has completed an assessment of the programme challenges. This found there are no major issues with the central digital architecture that sits at the core of the pensions dashboards ecosystem.
PDP is currently in planning towards the new connection deadline.
What happens next?
Once the work on planning is complete, we will put it into action.
We will progress the draft standards for dashboards, informed by insight gathered from industry consultations. Development of supporting documentation and the support model for connection will begin, and we will continue working with early participants on connection and testing.
PDP will continue to share programme updates, including the publication of our progress update report in the Autumn.
